Whether you’re looking for adventure, history, nature, or a peaceful escape, there’s plenty to discover in the Borders.

Here’s some things that you can do in the area without being too far from the sauna:

Beyla, our first sauna, is located at Traquair House in Innerleithen, a destination in its own right. As Scotland’s oldest inhabited house, with over 900 years of history, Traquair offers a unique glimpse into the past, surrounded by beautiful gardens and woodland. Spend an afternoon getting lost in the famous maze, wandering the peaceful woodland trails, visiting the independent craft shops or one of Scotland’s oldest working breweries, or enjoying a light lunch in the charming Old Walled Garden Café. With a year-round programme of events, including living history weekends, exhibitions, and family days, there’s always something new to experience. It’s the perfect place to visit before or after your sauna session.

For those who love the mountain biking or the outdoors, Glentress Forest is a must-visit. One of the Scottish Borders’ most famous adventure destinations, Glentress is renowned for its world-class mountain biking trails, spectacular forest scenery, and miles of walking routes. Whether you’re exploring on two wheels or two feet, you can also enjoy the Wildlife Hub, Go Ape treetop adventures, bike hire, the café, and picnic areas, making it a perfect place for a day of adventure.

For a slower-paced escape, head to Dawyck Botanic Garden. Nestled in the beautiful Tweed Valley, Dawyck is a peaceful haven filled with magnificent trees, seasonal colour, and rare plants from around the world.

Eira on the organic oat farm near Ale Water

If you’re planning to explore further afield, our second sauna, Eira, is perfectly placed for discovering the wider Borders. Located on our organic oat farm near St Boswells, beside the beautiful Ale Water, Eira offers the perfect setting for a refreshing dip between sauna rounds. Nearby, you’ll find attractions such as The Great Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels, Abbotsford House, the historic home of writer Sir Walter Scott and MacArts, a 19th-century converted church hosting live music, comedy, and art shows.

And if you’d like someone local to help you uncover the best of the area, we couldn’t recommend Tweed Valley Blogger more. His guides are packed with hidden gems, walks, places to eat, and experiences that showcase everything that makes the Scottish Borders special.

Wherever your Scottish Borders journey takes you, don’t forget to add a relaxing sauna session along the way.
