Use of the sauna is at your own risk. We ask that you contact your doctor if at all in doubt about safely using the sauna or if any of the below apply;

  • If you’re pregnant
  • If you’ve had a heart attack or stroke
  • If you’re taking any medications
  • If you have cardiovascular conditions, or problems
  • If you have epilepsy
  • If you have asthma or breathing conditions
  • If you have high or low blood pressure
  • If you have arterial disease

By booking a session, you’re confirming that you, and everyone in your group, has considered this advice and all those detailed in our T&Cs.

  • The sauna’s stove is wood-fired and is extremely hot. Do not touch it, other than as instructed by your sauna host to ladle water onto the stones.
  • Please bring drinking water and stay hydrated throughout your session.
  • Children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the sauna.
  • Cedar Hus takes no responsibility for the damage or loss of customers’ property. Valuables are left at your own risk. We cannot take responsibility for your belongings during your session.
  • If you are making this booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all users aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears intoxicated, or deemed a risk to health and safety. Refunds will not be offered in this circumstance.
  • If you are running late, please let us know within 15 minutes of the booking start time. Beyond this, the appointment will be considered a ‘no-show’ and the time may be given to someone else.
  • Staying in the sauna for more than 20 minutes at a time is not recommended. Those new to sauna might stay in the sauna for 5 to 10 minutes, and experienced sauna goers might want to stay in the heat for up to 20 minutes before cooling down.

Sauna etiquette and safe behaviour

  • Please enter and exit the sauna with care and as quickly as possible to conserve heat which is quickly lost through the door.
  • Please remove your shoes or flipflops before entering the sauna.
  • Always sit on your towel on the bench.
  • Be aware that the stove reaches extremely high temperatures and should be treated with respect. Do not touch any part of it, and only pour the provided water onto the rocks as instructed by a member of staff, and with consent from fellow sauna users.
  • Alcohol, smoking and vaping are not allowed in or near the sauna. Additionally, alcohol is not recommended before or after a sauna session.
  • Please do not use essential oils in the sauna without permission.
  • Anyone using the cold shower, sea, river, loch or any other body of water as a ‘cold plunge’ does so at their own risk. If you use the body of water, you should ensure that you are a capable swimmer and can handle being exposed to the cold temperatures, varying conditions and other dangers of a body of water. For more details consult the RNLI webpage: https://rnli.org/safety/choose-your-activity/open-water-swimming#
  • Jewellery and watches should be removed before entering the sauna as these become very hot.
  • Removing glasses or contact lenses is advisable as glasses will steam up immediately upon entering the sauna and contact lenses will warm up and can become dry and uncomfortable.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations made 7 days before the booking date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the booking date will not be refunded. Transferring your booking onto a friend is possible, but please confirm this with us in advance by emailing sauna@cedarhus.co.uk.

We reserve the right to cancel bookings at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we will contact you to rearrange your booking.

Discount voucher terms

Discount vouchers are one per person. They hold no monetary equivalent. Offers can be amended or terminated at any time. On occasion, we offer discounts to specific groups or clubs, in these cases the discount should only be used by the intended recipient. We reserve the right to cancel bookings should discounts be claimed by others. Discounts cannot be joined and are not valid for use against gift vouchers purchases or ‘packages’.

Gift Card terms

Gift cards for private or social sauna sessions can be purchased from us though the book now page, or email sauna@cedarhus.co.uk if you have something else in mind. Gift cards should be used within 12 months of purchase.

Accessibility

We regret that due to the nature of our mobile business set up, there are some areas where accessibility may need to be considered. The sauna will often be situated in a rural location, probably with at least a 5-minute walk to reach it through fields or along tracks. The sauna has 4 wooden steps with no banister, and two doors to navigate before entering the sauna. We want to ensure the sauna is as accessible as possible, but there are practical limitations so please ensure you are comfortable with these before booking.
